The only thing that makes Quebec difference is that they want to have nothing to do with the rest of Canada. They want our money but not to be apart of our country. Quebec wants to separate. I say good riddens!

You may get a lot of wisecracks from my fellow Canadians. I will avoid that.

Much of Quebec is french only. Montreal is pretty well bilingual takes me 2 or 3 days to be speaking French without knowing it.

They have their own immigration laws.

Martial Law was nation was nation wide

The Dionne were born in North Bay Ont, of French speaking parents. Most of Ontario north of North bay - Sudbury is at least 50% French speaking

All signs must be in French.

Woman's fashions are Wow.

I'm a 5 ft 7 in male and feel tall in Quebec, their woman are taller than average. Even the men dress better.

A lot of people complain they find them rude, I don't find it so.

The architecture is different, a lot of prewar French remember unlike France they didn't get bombed

I like to visit and now that I'm retired am thinking of moving of moving there for a year or so to improve my French.

They have the biggest snowman, the most liberal drinking laws, and Celine Dion. Also I think it's the only province to have been reduced in size (when Newfoundland joined and got Labrador).

Well they speak French for one thing and their population is largely decended from French Colonists. They are the only province to govern under Civil Law where as the rest of Canada uses the British Common Law system. I think they were probably the the only province where marshal law was declared (don't quote me on this) back in the 70's because of the Quebecois terrorist organization called the FLQ. They are also a very old Province and lay claim to the first know set of Quintuplets, the Dionne Quints. They also REALLY like Poutine (fries smoothered in gravy and mozza cheese)

Added: Okay well thanks for correcting me Sid B. I thought they were born in Quebec but that makes sense now.

I moved from B.C. to Australia, from Australia to Ireland, from Ireland to the Laurentians in Quebec, and from Quebec to Calgary. How is Quebec unique? It's no more unique than any other place that I've been! Ummmm.....they speak Quebecois and have great beer? Wait - Ireland speaks funny English and has great beer too! No diff.
