It takes anywhere from 4 days to as many days as you want it to take, it will all depend on how many hours you drive and your route, your speed, the weather, traffic when you hit metro areas.

As for the mileage:

It is approx 5725 kms via the Trans Canada thru Thunder Bay, Montreal, New Brunswick to Halifax

It is approx 6165 kms via the US, down thru Seattle and then all the way across on the 90/94/80/90 interstates coming up through Maine.

Based on a 1200 km day it would be minimum 4- 5 days to get there.

Dead Day Afternoon
That would be one long drive.
I drove from Toronto to Vancouver in 4 days, so I would expect to be out the road for about a week. The road conditions would also play a factor.
It would be a cool trip though.

Vancouver to Torornto usually takes me 56 hours of drive time however you want to split that up into days. Its a tough haul straight thru. I have done the Toronto to halifax in 21 hours so add them up its 77 hours drive time minus maybe 5 hours if you straight cut across northern ontario and dont detour south thru Toronto so my answer would be 70 hours drive time more or less.

Actually, it is about a 9 day drive going only through Canada. Several days can be saved by going through the USA. Specially since large parts of the highway in Canada are only two lanes.

Generally to do this drive, you go from Vancouver to Chicago and then you don't re-enter Canada until Detroit. Then between Toronto and Halifax, you cut through Maine.

This question depends on the time of year and how long you want to spend behind the wheel each day. Obviously winter driving conditions are going to slow you down considerably due to highway conditions. Under ideal summer driving conditions the drive should take approximately 5 days and that is averaging 600 miles a day at least.

With winter weather Why not take Greyhound Or Via rail ? then rent a car

It's 6,142 kms and takes 2 days and 10 hours, according to maps.google.ca. You can probably save time taking the Digby Ferry and travelling through Maine, but probably not a lot.
