about 7 to 8 hours depending on the flight plan and air speed.

A direct flight takes about 7hours and 45 minutes. There is a time difference of 4 hours with Montréal so it shouldn't be so bad. You will suffer on the return trip because it takes much longer 10 hours 30 minutes. Fortunately flights for London (British Airways and Air Canada) leave around 20:00pm or 8 o'clock from Montréal so you can sleep on your way home.
Don't worry you'll love taking the plane! I do! You feel yourself sinking into the seat at takeoff. You'll probably be on a large 747 Boeing. A smooth ride. I've been on everything from a small 4 seat Cessna to the huge 747 Boeing. A small Cessna with one propeller (really noisy), regular unpressurized cabin (your ears pop and you feel every air pocket), plus my dad as pilot.
A 747 Boeing is the most luxurious ride in comparaison.
Have a good trip!

About 7 hours. I went from Ottawa to London in 7 and a bit. Montreal is about a 2 hour drive from Ottawa.

If you were able to get a direct flight it would be approx. 7 Hrs 24 Min. You can get flight times and distances for airports all over the world at http://www.jets.com/

I have flown from London Gatwick to Montreal a few times and it took roughly 7 hours 30 minutes. That was on an airbus 310.As far as I know no airline uses a 747 to Montreal from England.Hope this helps.

Shortest time is 7 hours 5 minutes.

British Airways operates a non-stop, flight # 95, that takes 7hrs 5 mins. They use a Boeing 777, the return takes 6hrs 30 mins due to tailwinds. (A Delta pilot announced on one of their flights that I happened to be on that the 777 was the fastest aircraft in their fleet)

Air Canada operates a non-stop from London Heathrow to St. John’s, flight # AC831. It takes 5hrs, 35 mins. They use an Airbus A3189, an aircraft normally used by most airlines for short haul domestic flights. The return flight is 30 mins shorter due to tailwinds. St. John’s is the closest city to London that is served by a non-stop flight. A non-stop flight from St. John’s to Montreal to would take almost 4 hrs.

A flight from London to Vancouver, the furthest Canadian city served by a non-stop flight takes 9hrs, 25 mins. They use a Boeing 747-400. The Air Canada flight takes about 10 hrs on an Airbus A330-300. They are both twin aisle, wide-bodied, long range aircraft. The 747 has 4 engines, the 330 has 2.
