The ferry ride is approximately 1 hr and 35 minutes between Victoria and Tsawwassen. It takes about 1/2 hour to go from downtown Victoria to the Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal and, depending on traffic, anywhere from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours to get from Tsawwassen to Vancouver. Since you need to be at the ferry terminal prior to boarding you should add about antoher 1/2 hour each way. For detailed information on sailing times you can go to the BC Ferries website http://www.bcferries.com/. The ride itself is enjoyable and who knows what you may see.
http://www.vancouvertrolley.com/ is the website for the Trolley Tour in Vancouver. |

I've often thought that it would be neat if there were a fairy to take us back and forth, (as opposed to a "ferry"). :):)
The ferry takes about 95 minutes from Tsawwassen to Sidney. Tsawwassen is about a 20 - 80 minute drive from Vancouver depending on the time of day and where in Vancouver you are. And Sidney is about maybe 20-30 minutes north of Victoria.
So, you need to consider the length of time getting to the ferry, waiting for the ferry, boarding the ferry, the 95 minute ferry ride, getting off the ferry, waiting for a bus if that's how you're travellilng, etc etc etc. It takes awhile. Yet it is stunningly beautiful. It goes through some tight passages on the way. It is worth taking.
And sorry, I don't know any thing about the trolly tour. |

It's a ferry and it's 1hour 35 min each way plus waiting for it to arrive. |

There's not much point to a one-day trip to Vancouver from Victoria, you'll spend too much of it on the road and on the ferry. But you can fly from downtown Victoria to downtown Vancouver which takes something like half an hour. It's not cheap but it's fast and convenient. Try Harbour Air. |

I don't know how long the fairy takes to get between Victoria and Vancouver but the BC Ferry takes 1 1/2 hours of beautiful scenery through the Guld Islands of British Columbia. It's a trip well worth taking. |

Jeff H. is correct. Sailing time is about an hour and 35 minutes. During the summer months the 'FERRY' runs hourly from 7am to 9pm. You need to add travel time from downtown to the 'FERRY' terminal and travel time into Victoria. There are a number of different types of tours in Victoria, there's a horse drawn trolly type of ride as well as English style double decker buses and rickshaw (yes rickshaw) type rides. |

If you go from Tswason terminal, it's a little shorter than 2 hours, but if you go from horsshew bay terminal, it's a little longer than 2 hours. |
