this come from the canada post corporation web site
presently due to high demand of air mail to europe canada post cannot guarantee delivrey of any letter parcel for the christmas day if mail past december 10 2006 any letter going overseas presently must go to custom clearance in halifax nova scotia then goes to scotland and then to paris then to the country
i worked for canada post international section and we are back log right now due to restriction on mail on airplane new rules so mail it before the 10 it got a good chance of getting there

Depending on the type of postage you use. If you send it first class, you can be promised usually a delivery time of about a week to two weeks. If it's priority or the like, then it might be given even two to three weeks, even though it's priority.

I sent letter post to Britain two months ago and I didn't get a response for a month-and-a-half. Yet, a year earlier, I sent something there again and it arrived in two weeks. Other things I've sent to CA have taken longer than from here to an overseas nation.

It sometimes also just depends on the amount that is being transported, flown over, what type of post-flight it's being sent in and the related nature. But, in any case, give it around two to three weeks. So, if it's a Christmas card, get out now. Every day that draws closer to Christmas, the letter and parcel post becomes busier and busier, some packages and cards never arriving at their destination.

Best luck to you.
Happy Holidays.
J.F.

Probably quicker then from London to Birmingham
