You go girl! I am one of the few people I know who wears a garment until it is worn out. My family has lived by this old rule: "Buy it used, wear it out, make it do, or do without." I am a millionaire next door. I have a small income but I buy only what I need and I live in a home with a paid off mortgage, drive a car that I own outright, I have no credit card debt and I have enough money to live on until I die. My day is my own. I owe no one anything...I am not a slave to anyone. I have total peace, total peace of mind and deep, deep happiness and I have enough extra to give to charities and help the people that I love. No possession is worth THAT!!!

Come to think of it, you wear it a lot more when it's brand new vs. after you wash it for a first time. i'd say that i wear it, (if i really like it) to about three different events (if it's not dirty) and then toss it in the hamper...

a sweater can get bad! the only thing it comes down to, is either do you love it enough to not wear in public, or are you ready to pitch it, if, there are little cotton balls/balls of lint all over it. If so, you might want to think about one of the suggestions, but if not, and it doesn't look like it has little creatures growing off it, then, by all means, KEEP IT! If there is reason, a mean, a real reason to pitch it, or you just don't wear it, trash it. But there is no expiration date on clothing, unless it is being eaten up by moth. You don't need to throw it out just because it was "last year". Keep it, and odds are that it will be back in style, and for more money, if it's just not you, next season.

a lot more

The oldest thing that I'm still wearing are jeans that I bought last August. My things get worn out fast. And I get sick of styles after like a day.
