a passport is universal. It's used whenever you leave the U.S. and enter another country. costs about $85 i think, depending how old u are. also, you need to get passport photos taken. that costs about $15. your local post office should be a good place to get your passport and they might even take the photos. It takes about 6 weeks to get your passport, after you submit the application, so make sure to leave enough time before you wanna go, so you get your passport in time. Hope this helps. enjoy your trip!

Your passport can be used to travel to any country. The cost for an adult passport is exactly $100 plus photos...which you can get at Walmart or Walgreens for about $8.00. See site below for all passport application info. Passports will not be needed for LAND travel to and from Canada until June 1, 2009...see 2nd site. It currently takes 3 weeks, not 6 to get a passport. See 3rd site.

There is no Passport to Canada. There is a US Passport that is $100 to get and valid for 10 years. It is issued by the US State Department and you can apply at the local Post Office.

A passport is not currently required to go to Canada if you are going by Land or Sea, only a valid Government Issued ID card and a birth certificate is necessary. it is the same to Mexico and about 26 countries in the Caribbean. A Passport is only needed if you are going by AIR. By June 2009 a Passport or Passport ID card is suppose to be required to go by LAND or SEA, but that date has been changed numerous times.

there is no such thing as a passport to a specific destination

For US citizens there are 2 options if you are traveling to Canada by boat or car/ train/ bus and you don't plan on traveling outside of the US by plane you can get a Passport card

The card has the same period of validity as the U.S. Passport Book: 10 years for an adult and 5 years for minors under age 16. The card costs $45 for a first-time adult passport applicant and $35 for all minor applicants under age 16, regardless of whether they are previous passport book or card holders. Adults who already have a fully valid passport book may apply for the card as a passport renewal by mail and pay only $20.

If you are flying you need a regular passport and that will cost $120 if you are over 16 and $85 if you are under 16
