How much spending money should I take on Vacation to Canada?

How much spending money should I take with me for 3 weeks in Canada? 2 Weeks are staying with someone, 1 week will be in a hotel, and I want to do some of the touristy stuff like Caraway Park, going to Banff, Lake Louise, Shopping in West Edmonton...any ideas?

If you like to spend a lot of money and eat out a lot, I'd take an average of about $40 or $50 per day (just for eating and shopping--you won't spend as much when your at your friend's house, but it will even out the week you are on you own). As far as budgeting for hotels or campgrounds (Banff Nat'l Park is amazing!), do your research online and find the most reasonable rates and make your reservations now!

I would budget for $50 a day for food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and depends what you are shopping for in Edmonton.
In the mountains its a bit more expensive, so I'd say almost $100 to get into the parks and for food and that.
Bring more that way you wont have regrets on not getting something that you really wanted and debated apon getting at the time!
Have fun and watch out for all the wildlife!

It all depends on were you want to go...................
To the big city?

The US dollar fetches about $1.12 CAD these days. Banff and Lake Louise can be tourist traps, but the West Edmonton Mall is pretty reasonable.

Depends on your personal spending habits, but I would say that $300 (excluding the hotel expenses) should be more than enough. But then again, I visit places to see them...not to buy them out :-)

all your money
on the way from edmonton to CALAWAY park, drop off whatever you have left
calaway will cost you $25 to get in, plus food
I would stay out of the touristy stuff myself and go hiking and site seeing in the mountains
tyrel museum in drumheller is nice
anything that tourists might go to is pricy, so bring lots
