How much would it cost to ship an item from Canada to the U.S.?
I'm thinking about having a friend buy and ship a guitar from a Canadian company in Vancouver to me in California. What are the ways I could get it sent to me, and are there any fees I'd have to pay (like duty, taxes, etc.)? Thanks :)
DEPENDS ON WHAT IT WEIGHS THEY HAVE SCALES AT POST OFFICES

Hi there,
shipping via canadapost depends on how much your packaged guitar weighs as well as the size (Length, Width and Heighth) of your package. Canada Post offers a variety of ways (ground, air, expediated, etc.) to get your parcel when you decide.
You may be charged duty...at customs your package will be assessed and duties determined on your guitars worth.
Just a note...if your guitar is shipped as a gift they may be more lenient with the duty charges. You will be required to pay the duty before you receive your package from the post office.
Hope this helps.

The best way is using Canadian Global express. Depending on how much the guitar cost you would have to pay duty and taxes. Now if it is a gift and is under a certain amount you dont need to pay. Also if they send it UPS or Fed Ex you will in counter broker fees which is about 30 dollars

It depends on how big the item you are shipping and how much it weighs. I bought a laptop from canada and it cost $14.00 to ship it here. Hope that helps.
