Well, toddlers start walking at about two years old? So I guess it would be that age. Of course, your parents or legal guardian are responsible for you until you are 18 years old in Canada, so that would probably lead to charges of neglect and a jail term.

I think what you mean to say is when can a child be left unsupervised, either on the street or in a house. The answer to that is that no child 12yrs old or younger should be left unsupervised for any length of time longer than 1-2 hrs, provided that they are mature enough to know the right things and wrong things to do in an emergency situation.

For example, if the children are playing on the street alone or with other kids and a stranger approaches them or they get hurt, they should immediately run to a trustworthy neighbour's house for help or protection.

In today's society with perverts picking kids up off the sidewalk, I personally would not allow my child to be unsupervised on the streets until they are at least that age. Before that, they would play in a fenced backyard, or with an older sibling/friend/relative at the park.

Depends on where in Ontario you happen to be. If you're nervous about being out by yourself, walk with friends - but there is no set age to walk alaone.

There is no age restrictions just common sense

As far as I know there's no legal age restriction. But for the sake of your personal safety, don't walk alone if you are young (under the age of maybe 11/12). I am in university now and I still don't walk alone after it gets dark outside. It's just not worth it.

Well when i was little.
I walked all the way to school and back.
I was about 6 or 7 years old.

Now.. Well i think you have to be atleast 11 or 12 to walk alone.
but kids now adays just do whatever they want.

Kelsie
If there is a lot of violence then walk with a large group. if not then it's still nice to walk with someone no matter what age
