How to get someone across the border into Canada if they have already been denied?

I am in the process of applying for a work visa in Canada. My biological father lives here and are staying with him until it is approved. Our kids go to school here in Canada. My husband had to return to the states due to a family emergency and now they will not let him back into canada due to his background. Can anyone give me any suggestions as to how we can get him back into Canada so that he can be with his family.

From your very first question in this string ... the reason you indicated that your husband was turned away was because of his criminal record.

Every nation in the world has the right to deny entry to anyone with a criminal record - including their own citizens, if the crime is severe enough.

This is one of the "unnoticed" penalties that accrue when someone commits a crime (particularly when young and not looking to the future).

There MAY be a way for him to come into Canada at a much later date (when CBSA decides he's rehabilitated from his criminal past). This may be next week - or it may be never. It all depends on the crime itself.

The chances are good that if the crime was a felony, he will NEVER be allowed into Canada. If it was a misdemeanor that did not involve alcohol, he may have a chance after about 5-10 years from the date of the conviction. If it involved alcohol (like a DUI or DWI), he might never be allowed in, either.

If you want your family to remain a unit, the most likely result will be to have you (and the kids) return to the US to live permanently.

how many times are you going to ask this?

if he comes across the border illegally as some unscrupulous posters have suggested he will never get a health care card a work permit and will live a life of hiding.what kind of life is that for your kids?

put in an appeal with immigration Canada and see what can be worked out

if you try to walk into the middle of the prairies to get over the border you will probably be shot by a drunken redneck farmer....you have been forwarned!

DK
You have to sort that out with the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) and the Canadian department of citizenship and immigration. Until you work something out with them, your husband can't get into Canada.

If he's planning on doing it illegally, the only options are, to swim across the Niagara river OR walk several thousand miles from Montana to the middle of nowhere in the prairies.

Its a loooooooong border... and its not really that well guarded... They only really care about the roads to keep people from shipping in goods without paying taxes for them.

Keeping him here once you get him in, thats something else.

ok listen very carefully, you walk across the border, and then have someone pick him up after. it is very complicated, but you need to do it to get him back to his family
