I don't think it would make much difference. Canadians seem to be a little conservative about things like that. Anyone who reaches the stage of having a shot at being PM is known by then anyway.

Stephane is not related to Celine Dion....they simply share the same last name.

Stephane was born in 1955.

Celine is a year older then I am and was born in 1968.

You are seriously mistaken if you believe that Celine Dion is the mother of Stephane Dion. She is not. Just because two people share a last name does not necessarily make them related.

Nice try but Stephane Dion is not Celine's son, lol. But as far as his becoming PM, his chances are good, for some reason voters here in Canada don't seem to hold the Liberal Party accountable the same way they do the Conservatives. Liberals promise the moon, deliver on nothing yet continue to win in Quebec and Ontario ensuring either a minority Government when the Conservatives do win or a majority when the Liberals sweep both the aforementioned provinces. At least the PC's try to live up to their election platform's even when some of their attempts do fall short, my wish that is before everyone voted that they would look back at previous election promises before they decide. I personally have much more respect for someone who tries and may fail then someone who promises and doesn't attempt to fulfil those promises.

Although they aren't related, I would say that being the leader of the (current) Liberal party, and a sorry excuse for a leader at that, hurts his chances a lot more than if he were related to Celine Dion.

I think Canadians are generally a smart enough bunch to not vote for someone based on their connection/affiliation to a celebrity.
I'll retract that statement, however, if Justin Trudeau decides to run for leadership :)

with every ounce of my being i hate this goof liberal stephane dion , it makes my angry for anyone to suggest he may become the leader of my country, i pray to god every night that i'll never have to hear his stupid idea'sand frenchy voice ever again also that he will never become P.M of Canada.
