Where do you want to go? Do you want to fly some where in the USA? If you take a bus to Buffalo and flew to a US airport, you would only need a valid photo ID and your birth certificate (2 ID's to proof who you are)Get your passport, next year they will change the requirements again. You can't fly out of US to another country without a passport, only within the USA you can fly without a passport.

Good Luck

Save yourself a lot of trouble in these times and get a passport!!

ShantiMaya
Would suggest you get a passport - it covers everything. By the way, you do need a passport when you fly to/from the USA.

You can't fly from the US without a passport. It's new regulation effective from January this year. You can return by bus or apply for a passport.

Right now American border control at the airport are not enforcing the no passport no entry to canadians who fly to the U.S. Of course it's only a matter of time before they do enforce it so you should save yourself the trouble and get a passport.
You do need a valid drivers licence though or some sort of official I.D.

If flying to another US destination you do not need a passport. If you decide to fly back to Canada you will need a passport, but if you just fly back to Buffalo then take a bus back to Canada, again you don't.
You will need two pieces of identification and one of them must be government issued photo id for crossing the boarder on the bus and getting on the plane in the US.
This information is current as of today and should be until December 31st, 2007.

even if you crossed on land to fly from Buffalo to another US destination, all foreigners who fly internally in the US are expected to have a passport.

you may luck out if you try to go without it, but I doubt it. it seems like a pricey gamble with bad odds against you.

you're better off getting a passport.

vnoe07
no, right now you don't need one for ground transportation....but if you fly into the USA from anywhere you will need a passport. You should get one anyways as it will be required in the future.
