SpencerLaVeaux

I'm am not from Canada. I am from Toronto.?

Anybody else who feels the same way?
Additional Details
The reason I feel this way is that I just don't like the rest of Canada very much.
I've been all around the country and tried many different things and I do not Hate is or distest them I just find them not to my liking. When people ask me where I'm from I say "Toronto" not ebcause I feel it's better than the rest of Canada just because all my life when I traveld Canada I never truly found it as "Home" even if the difference was slightly different it just never felt good or rigth to be there.

Unfortunately it is that attitude that upsets the rest of Canada. When you talk to someone out west, they feel that Ontario and Quebec get the sweetest deals, and they are left out in the cold.

Atlantic Canada are always struggling to get a piece of the pie for their provinces, and again see Ontario as the place they have to send all their tax money to.

Quebecers see Ontario as the capital of English Canada and many resent the fact that many jobs are lost in Quebec when corporations decide to relocate into the Toronto area.

And many people in the Toronto area seem to feel they are "above" the rest of the country, almost elitist.

I've been all over the country, visiting places from Alberta all the way to New Brunswick (sorry no further east or west...yet!) and I found the friendliest and nicest people were in the Calgary (AB) area and near Fredericton (NB).

That is not to say everyone in T.O. or in Ontario feel like you. I know lots of friendly down-to-earth people in places like Smith Falls, Welland, Port Perry, and Brockville.

I would probably say that living in one of our largest cities with all that urban sprawl may make people feel "bigger" than they should.

I am sure you are a nice person. But when you start to make statements like "I don't hate them, I just don"t like them", it is usually things I hear reserved out of the mouths of racists and bigots.

I surely hope you can look around this great country and see things that are good about many of the regions, and hopefully have a better identity of yourself as a Canadian from Toronto.

Out on a Coffee Break-Back Soon~
Toronto is part of Canada, just like Las Angeles is part of the United States. I'm not getting why you feel being from Toronto is somehow better than being from Canada.

no - i don't. In fact I feel like all of Canada is my stomping ground.

You should try getting out (of Toronto) a bit more

I am from Toronto AND from Canada. Show some patriotism. Toronto is a safe, clean, fun place because it is "from" Canada and not from the United States. If you don't believe me see New York (dump, rude people, unsafe), New Orleans, or any other large world city.

well, the day they realize that Canada is not just Toronto...which by your question seems still confusing to you, then you may find "Rest of Canada:" more welcoming.
As a former torornto lad now Vancouverite I can tell you the world is not contained between Markham Road and Bathurst Street,
Lake Ontario to Steeles Ave.

How 'local' of you! If you ever travel to the rest of the world, your Canadian flag is alot more important than your postal code.

Toronto is a great city BECAUSE it is part of CANADA.

Show a little respect for your country.

the only person I can control...
I've never heard anything good about Toronto, its a change. I love Canada.

That's ok. The rest of Canada doesn't like Toronto. They are seen as stuck up, snobby, whining, freeloaders.

That's nice...

Not a problem. It's nice to hear someone say something positive about TO.
