Go to the west side (Digby) to see the Bay of Fundy and watch the tides. Don't miss Peggy's Cove and be sure to eat local lobster. Drive the road that goes directly along the coast and the coves are beautiful. Drive up around the north part: Cape Breton Island. There is a great ship museum in Halifax. The capitol bldg is about 2 blocks away. There is also a green "duck" tour available nearby. Shelburne is really nice with a museum. In Luneburg is the fishery museum. The quaint seacoast village of Mahone Bay offers art, craft and antiques shops and a picturesque shoreline consisting of stones and boulders. There is a catamaran ferry in Yarmouth that goes to Bar Harbor, Me. It is VERY fast. There are a lot of lighthouses in NS, our favorite was in Yarmouth. I hope you have the entire month or you will run out of time.

Take a side trip to PEI if at all possible. It is a whole different world, nothing like NS. I hope this helps.

Okay, forget everywhere else, just get yourself to Cape Breton! LOL It is hands-down the most incredible scenery in NS. Go around the Cabot Trail for the absolute best scenery. You should order a free Doers and Dreamers travel guide from the site below, they're pretty quick about sending them out and they're chock full of info and pictures. All accomodations are listed as well as all the attractions by town/region. Just click on "order travel guides" in the left hand column near the bottom.

The drive up to Cape Breton from Halifax is a pretty drive as well. Other great places to see are Peggy's Cove (near Halifax), Sambro Lighthouse, Mahone Bay, Lunenburg, and the Ovens Natural Park.

Peggy's Cove. Upper Clements Park. There are loads of beautiful beaches. I went to Halifax for the first time this summer and the waterfront is awesome. There's a casino in Halifax too.

Halifax, for certain, The Fortress at Louisbourg if you have time to go to Cape Breton. Lunenburg should be checked out. It all depends what your interest are. If history, in Halifax- The Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, they have an awesum display of The Titanic. Also local cemetaries for the victims. In Fairviw cem. there ia headstone for a "J>Dawson" the name of DeCaprios character. He was actually an 18 year old kid that worked on the ship. They just used his name for the fictional character.
If you like Pubs, we have great ones, alot of Celtic flavour. Contact the Gov of N.S. Tourist Bureau, and they will help you with all your plans.

You will need a minimum of 2 weeks unless you are into museums and shopping in which case the month will be too short. All of the lists already provided are hi-lights. There is tons of stuff to see including the home of Josh Slocum, the first person to sail around the world single handed.
