I'm going to Toronto next week & want to know what area to book my hotel in. Is it all safe? Areas to avoid?

I'm going to Toronto next week & want to know what area to book my hotel in. Is it all safe? Areas to avoid? I'm booking through Hotwire which pretty much has me pick an area (downtown, airport, East Toronto, and a couple of others) but doesn't tell me details (address, hotel name)until after I've paid. Thanks!

Toronto is safe, but I would stick to the name brands.

There are lots of hotels in toronto, they are reasonable.

If you want to stay in the part of town where you will see hollywood stars, that is Yorkville. The Four Seasons Hotel, The King Edward Hotel.

Nearby is the Delta Chelsea, Cambridge Suites Hotel.

All are within walking distance of the shopping, theatres, sports events, tourist spots, restaurants, bars, waterfront.

Go, have fun, and enjoy.

I have been to T.O. a few times myself, the best advice I can give you is to go downtown. If you find it a bit expensive, you can find many chain hotels in safe areas.

In Toronto downtown, you'd find most comfortable hotels. some of them might be little expensive, but they're sufficiently valuable. Right this moment, there are 7-10 terrorists (al-Qaeda) captured by Toronto police. they were about to blow up some important buildings. now it's all safe. Downtown, east Toronto, Scarborough and Airport way, are most safe areas to hang around.

I'm not advertizing these hotels, just telling about them.

All located in Toronto Downtown area.

I would say book a hotel in downtown. There's lots to do there and it's pretty safe. It's pretty crappy it won't tell you anything until you book it. It should tell you the name of the hotel and all other info before you pay. At least that's what legit websites do.

The Delta Chelsea off Yonge is really nice my fav hotel to stay at when I go, close to all the action, shopping, Yuk Yuks (comedy club), restaurants (Richtree Markets inside the BCE Place), There is also a Marriott Courtyard on Yonge that is nice. Definitely stay right downtown in the action though.

Have fun, and it is safe! :)

If you are going for business your company would want you close to thier site for ease of commute for conference or meeting.
