tripadvisor.com Great site, lots of attractions broke into different categories and has traveller reviews so you can decide whether certain attractions are worth it:D
Have fun! |

It al depends on what your interests are. PEI is known for Anne Of Green Gables and this is a celebratory yr so everything will be geared to that. There is also an amusement park/water park. Nova scotia is a large province with lots to see and do from beaches to forts to museums to wineries an amusement park, animal parks etc etc. Go online to the doers and dreamers guides for those provinces for a complete list of attractions and accomadations. My advice if you really want to see the province get off the main highways and follow the coast for beautiful scenerie and unique community museums etc. |

I live in Nova Scotia, we have lots to do around here in the summer. In Halifax there are lots of musical festivals happening, in the Annapolis Valley there are many farmers markets and old historical sites to visit like Grand Pre, Annapolis Royal and in Halifax there is Citidal Hill.
Nova Scotia is a place to go if you like the old fashioned way of life, like going to markets and stuff, but theres lots of trendy places to go in Halifax such as Spring Garden Road. |

What attractions are best depends upon your interests.
I recommend the official Nova Scotia government tourism site. Order a Doers and Dreamers reference guide, which is one of the best I've seen, and I've ordered hundreds of these free guides from all over the planet.

I highly recommend the Fortress of Louisbourg and the Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island, as well as the Town of Lunenburg and the Annapolis Valley, in addition to the city of Halifax, the capital. |

If you're taking the ferry to PEI from NS, I suggest going to Melmerby Beach. It's a beautiful beach and it's close to Pictou. Almost all the small towns in NS and PEI have some sort of festival throughout the summer. Some of the bigger ones that I've been to include The Apple Blossom Festival in Wolfville/Kentville, Pictou's Lobster Carnival, New Glasgow's Riverfront Jubilee and Halifax's Buskerfest or Natal Day celebrations.
I'm more familiar with things to do in NS, as I've lived here most of my life, but I'd recommend:
--Tidal Bore rafting in Shubenacadie
--Touring around the Cape Breton Highlands (Ingonish is a great little town to stop in--Main Street Cafe is DELISH)
--Tubing down the Gaspereau River near Wolfville
--Exploring Citadel Hill in Halifax, as well as the waterfront...take a ride on the Harbour Hopper--cheesy, but fun and informative!
--Deep sea fishing!
--Peggy's Cove
--Lunenburg (home of the Bluenose aka the ship on the dime)
In PEI, I remember loving Charlottetown. Very cute little "city"...but we had a lot of fun there. If you've got kids, there are attractions like Sandspit (pretty name eh?) and Cavendish Beach. Nothing fancy, but fun for little ones. |
