I'm taking trip to nova scotia canada soon, has anyone ever been there?

I lived there for two years, and my husband lived there for many years before we met. We visit Nova Scotia quite often.

The people are friendly, the scenery is awesome, and there are plenty of good tourist attractions. You must check out Louisburg, Grafton Street Dinner theatre, the Engllishtown ferry, mining museums, national and provincial parks, the Cabot Trail, beautiful Annapolis Valley, the Bay of Fundy, the Alexander Graham Bell Museum at Baddeck, historic Halifax, whale sight seeing and boat tours, and many other attractions. Also drive to North Sydney and take the car ferry to Newfoundland for another awesome experience.

That is a beautiful place to go and the people are fabulous.
The ocean is so beautiful as well and the tides are out of this world. You will love it. I am wondering if you are going to Halifax or Peggy's Cove or some place like that.
No matter where you go you will enjoy the people and the seafood is amazing! The Ships and shops are great as well.

Hallo!

Used to live there for my University years. Love the place, the folks are fun, the towns & cities are clean. If you're only there for a week or less, perhaps concentrate on the Halifax/Dartmouth area. Longer than that perhaps drive up to the Cabot Trail [in Cape Breton]. Or if you like to check the provincial parks, try Louisbourg [also in Cape Breton]. Please view below for the links. btw- I hope you enjoy seafood. ;-D

Like most places, Nova Scotia has many different parts! You can go to a large city, like Halifax, head out in the country to Provincial Parks, explore the Bay of Fundy, find one of the smaller lakes and hide out in a cottage, visit the university town of Wolfville, or explore Acadian history at Grand Pre! I began vacationing there with my parents in 1969 and am planning another trip there this coming summer.

Check web sites, get tourist literature from AAA or tourist bureaus and decide what you'd like to do. You can make it as relaxing a vacation as you want, or as rigorous a one as you desire! Chill at the beach or decide to bike ride in the beautiful terrain of Cape Breton. It's your choice!

I live in Nova Scotia now and it is wonderful. The people are about the friendliest in the world. Halifax has lots of shopping and city stuff(casinos etc) Maritime Museum of the Atlantic is great. Cape Breton is Beautiful in Baddeck see the Alexander Graham Bell Museum and Fort Louisberg in Louisberg. The South Shore to Amherst has sandy beaches and warm water other areas have rocky beaches and colder water but so peaceful and beautiful. Annapolis Vally has Port Royal and Evangeline and Lunenberg is a fishing village with a beautiful museum. The Cumberland shore where I live is beautiful also Age of Sail Museum is amazing, Fundy Geological Museum,Heritage models, Chignecto Park,Fossil cliffs for a small province there is an incredible lot to see and do don't limit yourself to just Halifax and Cape Breton so many do there first trip and regret it becouse you'll miss too much! Enjoy your visit

most polite people....u will luv the scenic drives especially cape breton island. some must see places
1. scenic drives - cabot trail, drive to the south shore from halifax.
2. places - lunenburg, peggys cove, citadel etc
3. there r a lot more to look for.
my best suggestion would be get a nova scotia guide from tourism website.

Just as all your posters have noted Nova Scotia is beautiful and the people are wonderful. I lived in Hailfax for ten years, it is my home and I miss it so. The time of year you travel is also important. July or late September I believe are the best months to visit. July has buskers in Halifax along the waterfront, most bars and restaurants have tables set outside to enjoy the weather. The weather in July is warm but with a mild breeze most times, although it does get warm the ocean keeps the temperature moderate. In late September the leaves are changing and the drives in the valley or up to Cape Breton in the Highlands National Park are breath taking. The red rock cliffs looking over the breaking ocean waves, and the fall colours... it is amazing!
Tourist stuff is all over the place, the Maritime Museum in Halifax has a display of Titanic artifacts, beach chairs and stuff that have been recovered from the ocean floor. The character that Leonardo DiCaprio played in the movie was a real guy and he is buried in Halifax, if you are into that. That is just a couple that were not yet mentioned.
