I would recommend Calgary, AB or Vancouver, BC. The temperature usually is the same as Detroit, MI. They wil have a booming economy.

These cities have excellent education, and good universities. The wages are generally high, depending on what your profession is. The cities I mentioned also have a very good future because they can one of the world's most concentrated number of fuel reserves that are easily accessible, and almost completely untapped.

Canadians are in my opinion are a bit more polite. And there is almost not racism there since about 1/4 of the people are not native born.

The only downside is that you have to wait a while to get in.

Canada overall has one of the best education systems in the world. It was established right from the get go by the pioneers. Public schools are good and varies from province to province and city to city but our kids overall crank out pretty good number in internationally tests. There are several world class universities in Torornto, Montreal and Vancouver as well as many others in smaller cities. Its a totally secular system but private religious available and home school an option as well. Healthcare.. well we have line ups for some procedures but our hospitals/docs are world class and universal coverage means overall good.

Western Canada is still growing very strong. (BC/Alberta) and future for them is bright. I chose Vancouver with mountains, oceans and mild winter climate close by wilderness and a great city. Not to detract from others as each is unique but winters can be long depending on where. Torornto/Montreal not so bad.. Edmonton/Calgary, East Coast.. they have winter winter.

the official site on immigrating to canada is

For jobs; I dont know what your area is but this site lets you drill down to get ideas:

Unemployment rate nationally is like 4-5% so if you get in jobs are not too tough to find.

Apply now, because it will take about 5 years to process your application-unless you are a M.D. or some other occupation that can be fast-tracked.

If you compare education with Europe, no. Canadians are not well educated at all. Standards are much lower than Europe and they have little culture in the west especially, although they think they have.
The level of English is actually low, and the general grammatical knowledge is abysmal, as can be seen by reading their newspapers.
