Canada is a huge country as far as acreage...there are large cities, small towns, rural areas, prairies, mountains, coastlines inland lakes, Take your pick. I am sure what ever you do for a living and what ever your hobbies are, you will find a suitable place to live.

I think Calgary. Its a booming city alot of opportunity. Little expensive on housing side. But once you get a better job you will be ok. I Love it

Personally I like a city.
The Okanagan is not as mild as Vancouver and the Island, and the scenery is much different. Research both if you are interseted and see which one you would prefer!
(and if you do like Vancouver i would definetly not suggest Surrey, try Kitsilano or other areas on the West end)

BC it is a very great place: weather is mild all year round. beautiful oceans, lakes and rivers too! here are some great places in bc that are pretty cheap
south surrey (suburb good priced housing safe)
Kamloops about three hours from vancouver (town, beautiful there house prices are very good)
Vancouver Island ( a little more expensive it depends on the area)
there are so many places i can't list them all best thing you can do is research find out what you want..
