I'm travelling to Canada, is it better to change my money in the UK or over there?

When I traveled to the UK from Canada I found the best thing was to actually withdraw money once I got there. Depending on the bank, you will get charged a withdrawal fee, but it is much better than the rip-off rate you get at money exchanging centers.

I would get some change to go with but personaly when I go to Austrailia I use my barclay card and withdraw ozzy cash out bank machines. easyer.

When travelling to another country I have found it cheaper to change the funds before leaving....but also I have found it works well to use a credit card, because that way you are not stuck with foreign currency when you go home. The credit card companies usually charge a fair exchange rate!

I do take some cash with me though, some places do not take credit!

I get my Canadian dollars from M@S.They give a very good exchange rate slightly better than the Post Office and don't charge commision. You can use a debit card in the cash machines in Canada but the bank usually charges

I think you will be better to change most of your money before you go maybe think about taking travels cheques. I like to use nationwide for my holiday cash as well as you can get the money out abroad at machines at no extra cost.

Have a great time in canada its a fantastic place with fantastic people.

Just take a small amount of cash I would take a credit card and or bank card which you can use in Canada and you then don't have the worry of being robbed of cash....Like USA most places like hotels, car hire etc insist on credit cards rather than cash....
