I'm travelling to Toronto in 1 week. Do they have rental cars up there?

Yes, we do have car-rental agencies here, including branches of some of the US-owned companies like "Enterprise Rent-A-Car" and "Budget".

The link below will take you to a list of rental agencies in the Toronto-area, so you can compare in advance. Most of them also offer online reservations via their websites (listed on the site linked).

See: http://www.gtaa.com/en/travellers/airport_information/ground_transportatio/car_rentals

If you're arriving via plane, 5 of these companies conveniently operate on-site at the [Pearson] airport, as someone already mentioned.

Hope this helps.

Yes we do. The suggestion of renting on the US side of the border and driving it here isn't a good one. You may save a bit of money ( doubtful) but you won't be covered by the rental car's insurance on this side of the border. Read the fine print on the rental contract. It usually forbids the use of a rental outside of the country it's rented unless you make prior arrangements ,which will raise the rental rate to cover the increased insurance costs. If the company you rent from even allows the practise.

beabuck50
nope we only have snowmobile rentals. hey by the way do you guys have cold water down there. i hope this was a joke man if not you really need to get out and see more of the world.

nope, they all have unicorns and fairy wings!

Make sure you take your fairy license those Canadian Mounties are strick!

PS you should check out the rates in the US near the border and drive to Canada, it may be cheaper (taxes)

No, you have to buy a car. Of course there are rental cars! You can even rent one right at the airport.

JeCanGirl :)
NO WAY!!
We only use sleds here.. jj try this: http://www.enterprise.com/car_rental/deeplinkmap.do?bid=1225&xparm=toronto-car-rental

Perigee
Does Toronto have rental cars??????

Yeah, it's beside the igloo, next to the hockey player with missing teeth.

Make sure you ask for a car with a northern hemisphere compass, otherwise you're totally screwed! Some rental agencies try and pull a fast one. Also, make sure the car isn't stolen by asking the rental place to see the"double-double" - they'll know what you mean. If they balk, go to another place. Bit of a problem here, what with the brownouts, looting and sickness.

Anyway, enjoy your stay!!

Of course they do, its a big city with lots to do and see. I think, but not sure if they have gambling there or not?

fatsausage
Yes - same as USA.

Hell no, they're still using the horse and buggy up there. You see the occasional Model T or if they're really rich a 1972 Pinto but that's only for the elite.

Lemme me ask you a question, in a city of over 5 million people, don't you think there'd be a car rental place? Just about any major city in the world has a place (or sometimes many places) where you can rent a car.

lmao
of course they do, electricity too!

Z
Well, they do but they're buried in frozen ice so you'd better bring a very large hairdryer with you!
