I am a British guy travelling around Canada just looking for some tips?

I plan to fly to Toronto and spend some time on the east coast and then possibly take a train through Canada to the west coast. I want to check Niagra Fall, Toronto, the rockies and Vancouver any further tips? If someone has the time to show me around ther city that would be cool.

While I doubt you will be able to find someone to personally show you around their city... one idea that might make things more personal is to stay at a few 'bed and breakfasts'. They are more intimate than big hotels, and motels, and the proprietors might be more willing or able to help you see things that are 'off the beaten path'... or less 'touristy' sights and locations.

Definitely don't miss the East coast... New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, and PEI can't be missed!

I hope you have a great time while visiting Canada. We are a very large country in size but small in population. Approximately 90% of all people living in Canada reside within 200 miles of the 49th parallel or the US border. Toronto, our largest city considers itself the only city in Canada and are in direct competition with Montreal, it's cousin in the Province of Quebec.
Niagara Falls is a must to visit but you might not enjoy the City of Niagara Falls as it is a glorified tourist trap.
Your idea of crossing Canada by train is a great way to see the country and to realize how vast Canada really is. The trip through the Rockies is fabulous and when you come into Vancouver and the terminas of your trip you will truly see the beauty of the West Coast. Public Transportation in Vancouver is very good in fact there is a Skytrain Station (elevated light rail) to your left when you come out of the train station.
If you have the time hop on a BC Ferry to Vancouver Island (Victoria) and tour Victoria. You can catch a bus at the bus depot in Vancouver and it will take you right onto the ferry and into downtown Victoria upon your arrival on the Island.
I know you will have a great time and welcome to Canada.

If you have time, I'd definitely spend a few days in Newfoundland, it's beautiful (not that the rest of Canada isn't). In any case, you can't miss the East Coast, Maritimers (and Newfies) are probably the nicest people I've ever met.
