I am a U.S Citizen and want to move to Canada for permanent residency ...?

I don't want to apply and wait for the outcome. I would rather just go there and find a job and stay there. Is it possible for me to do that? Go there first and then apply to stay??? Any advice is welcome. Thank you.

You are able to go to Canada and stay for 1 year, then you have to have your immigration papers in so that you don't get thrown out :). I moved from Minnesota to Ontario, and my immigration papers were in, but it does take a long time so have some patience. I suggest that you get your papers started before you move so you have a head start.

If you just go there and try to get a job, you will be an illegal immigrant. I presume you know what that means in the USA. It means even more in Canada as they actually do enforce the work place rules there.

Until you get a Canadian Social Insurance Number, you cannot work in Canada legally.

No you cant work without a work visa and you cant get a visa from inside the country. Sorry you have to do it the way everyone else does.

Good luck trying that. If you are crossing into Canada by land as a tourist, you are interrogated like a criminal. Imagine if you want to move there. Better get a good job, everything is highly taxed. Income tax, GST, PST.

Applying for citizenship into Canada isn't as hard as applying for citizenship in America.
