You are able to go to Canada and stay for 1 year, then you have to have your immigration papers in so that you don't get thrown out :). I moved from Minnesota to Ontario, and my immigration papers were in, but it does take a long time so have some patience. I suggest that you get your papers started before you move so you have a head start. |

If you just go there and try to get a job, you will be an illegal immigrant. I presume you know what that means in the USA. It means even more in Canada as they actually do enforce the work place rules there.
Until you get a Canadian Social Insurance Number, you cannot work in Canada legally. |

No you cant work without a work visa and you cant get a visa from inside the country. Sorry you have to do it the way everyone else does. |

Good luck trying that. If you are crossing into Canada by land as a tourist, you are interrogated like a criminal. Imagine if you want to move there. Better get a good job, everything is highly taxed. Income tax, GST, PST. |
