Vancouver- green all year round but 8 months of grey skies and rain...depressing to me, I couldn't handle it. The summers are great...and no snow...but the sun...I need sun. My husband never had a problem when it came to his skin color, and my kids didn't either. High property crime. The mountains, sea and forests are amazing, especially if you are the outdoorsy type

Edmonton- Cold in the winter and not very hot in the summer. Cool springs and falls. Expensive for what you get. Not very multicultural, some slight problems (I have family on my husbands side there) Calgary is a better bet both in weather and things to do. But very expemsive and very low vacancy rate. Racially, watch youtube, look up "Calgary racist nightclubs" you'll see what I mean. I've lived there. Crime is on the rise, more murders and violent crimes per capita than Toronto.

Toronto- Cold winters, the occasional -25 but mostly -5. This year we got a lot of snow but we usually miss the storms. Hot in the summer, and humid, 25-35C.....very, very diverse, but as all places sometimes people aren't very nice. I can say though that I have Philippine friends, Chinese friends, White friends, Black friends, Indian friends, Latino friends, and we all hang out all the time. Guns are a problem but per capita we have one of the lowest crime rates in the country.

Vancouver, no question. Winters are cloudy and rainy most of the time but not cold, summer is nice, not too hot. There's lots to do, indoors and out. Vancouver has a lot of people from everywhere, many from China and India in particular, and only the odd nut will even think twice about your skin colour. Hard to tell about dating, that can be difficult anywhere. Don't worry about being safe, there are very few parts of any Canadian cities considered unsafe, and those mostly at night, easy to avoid.

I would suggest Vancouver since their winters are not nearly as cold and snowy as Toronto and Edmonton. I don't think your skin colour would make a difference anywhere; Canada is very diverse and there are many different races and nationalities here so you will blend in with no problem. As for the dating not sure about that...guess you will just have to get out and meet other singles to find people to date.

i personally never lived in edmonton or vancouver but i would pick vancouver out of the three. toronto has more ethnic background/multicultural diversity so you got no problems making friends. dating wise.. hahaha. good one i honestly dont know where you can even find a decent sensible guy to go out with. the dating scene can be pretty challenging to navigate through. anyways its best to meet like-minded folks through common/shared activities. good luck.

I'm from Van, so I have to say Vancouver! It's BEAUTIFUL with great weather, great food, great people, great outdoors, great everything.

I'm not sure if it would make a difference, but while Vancouver is not very white, it's not very black either. Toronto, on the other hand, has a huge population of black people (more like the US cities that I've been to) and it's a pretty cool city. Lots to do and lots of neighbourhoods. Good shopping!

I would skip Edmonton and go for Calgary if you want to be in Alberta.

They're *all* safe. I mean crimes happen but you have to be careful and sensible. Canada is generally a ridiculously safe country. Good luck!!

Lord Fauntleroy-Flantesbury
Mildest winters - Vancouver
Mildest summers - Edmonton (among major cities)
Most multicultural - Toronto, followed by Vancouver

Dating? Ah, that's a tough one. I'm still single and I live here. No guarantees there. Obviously a big city gives you better chances.

Calgary sounds like the place for you.
Oil capital of Canada means lots of men working in the oil patch. Also means that they(oil companies) make more so we (women) make more too.
Winters are mild as Calgary gets to experience the Chinook many days.
