99% of the time it is simple, you will probably be hassled more returning to the US then crossing into canada. If you are a young male, especially travelling alone, they may search your car just because a lot of hand guns and assault weapons are trafficked across the border into canada but like i said it should be very simple. If it is a busy time. like friday evening at the rainbow bridge in niagara falls then you may wait a while in traffic. make sure to have valid id like drivers license and/or birth certificate. |

lol, just have your passports and any additional info ready in hand. coming into canada is usually easy because the officers aren't very harsh at all. listen to the radio stations that have the border waits and use the truck crossing (usually a smaller line up) |

Depends...if you're overly nice or if you seem suspicious they will pull you over and search your car and even search you if they feel like it. For the most part it's no problem. |

No big deal, they will want to know where you live, where you are going, and for how long. Have your driver's license and birth certificate ready. You may be asked if you have any alcohol or tobacco. If you are a young male in a flashy car, be prepared to get a thorough questioning - you fit into a likely drug smuggling scenario.
Otherwise - you will only be stopped for a couple of minutes at most. And don't bring any guns with you! |

It depends where you cross. If you cross at an Interstate or other major crossing, or on a real rural road in the boonies, you are much more likely to be delayed by lots of questions and your car searched. If you cross at secondary highways it is more likely that you will not be hassled. Have whatever you need to declare written down on a piece of paper; that usually impresses Customs agents that one is OK. |

It depends where you are crossing. Some popular border crossings are experiencing tremendous delays.
You can check here for border crossing delay times:
