if you're flying yes, you need a passport. if you're driving nope you don't need one until Jan. 2008. you can show them your driver's license at the border or birth certificate. for the kids, you need to bring their birth certificates too and a letter of consent from their Dad stating that he gave you permission to travel to Canada (address must be specific) and the period you intend to stay in Canada, it must be notarized too.

Right now, no. July of 2008 yes you will.

Millet is correct. No passport needed for LAND travel to Canada til after Jan. 2008. do need passports for AIR travel. See website below for more info on parental permission.

For the rest of 2007 you can drive or bus back and forth across the border without passports ( in 2008 you will require passports to return to the states from canada by land ) If you were to fly you do require a passport already, as of January of this year.

Grand pa
not yet . if both parents not travelling you may need a note from the father

Just to be safe have a passport, or call the Canadian and US customs for your travel to Canada

yes. more so to get back into the US than to get out into Canada, and also depends on which border you cross.
