If you are British, then no you would not need a Visa to get into either Canada or to get to the USA from Canada. What you will need when you get to US customs is your flight ticket as proof of onwards travel from Canada , so they don't think you are intending to become an illegal alien!
Source: I am British and travel a lot to both America and Canada! |

With a british passport, you can fairly easily enter the US, but at the border you will have to go through customs etc and pay $15 (I think) to get a sort-of visa into the country, you don't need to previously apply or anything like that. This caught me out when I was travelling round ze world. |
