Go to Mississauga! That's where I live! lol

Mississauga is about half an hour away from Toronto (but it's not very busy as the city itself) and there's this place in the city called "Lakeshore" (but the houses are quite expensive there) and it's near the lake if I'm not mistaken. (If you're really aiming to live near the lake) =P It's peaceful in Mississauga and people are usually very friendly and helpful! I also see lots of new houses being built so I guess it wouldn't be hard finding a new place to call home! =D

Best of Luck! Hope this helps =D

I was just reading other posts and Oakville is a nice place too. Usually, that's where senoirs settle down and retire. (It's a bit boring there in my opinion. hehehehe. =P)

There are many very nice locations around the lake. I would suggest living somewhere near wherever you are going to be working for a start.

Kingston is a very nice place and about as far from Toronto as you can get. St. Catherine's is similar on the other end of the lake. Hamilton isn't all that far from Toronto, but still isn't exactly next-door. If you are looking for a touristy place, you can consider Niagara-on-the-Lake. And there are a number of smaller cities along the north shore like Cobourn and Belleville. Some sections of the lake bounds are even basically rural. You can find almost anything you want except hills. For anything like that, you will have to be on the south-west part of the lake along the Niagara Escarpment.

If you have to ask this sort of question, on here, then you probably shouldn't be moving.

My friend was transfered to Toronto, but lives about 30 minutes from there in a town named Oshwa(sp?). He seems to really enjoy it and it is a short train ride from his home. Hope this helped

Niagara on The Lake and Oakville are terrific places to live. Very clean, picturesque right on the lake. Still close to Toronto, but far enough away.

You should move to London Ontario, more food there, although I must admit its mostly crappy and full of bacteria, at least the University food anyway!

Welcome to Canada!]

I have lived here for thirty years and I love it here. Do you have to settle near Lake Ontario? I don't know much about that area but the area of Southern Ontario near Lake Erie is also lovely.

You can find out more at http://www.discover-southern-ontario.com which is a site that has lots of information about this area - the towns and cities, quaint villages, the economy & industry, nature, wild-life and housing market.

Good Luck and welcome!

Mississauga, It is really nice here. Peacefull and no gun violence and such. If not and you want to be like RIGHT by the lake, then i suggest Burlington
