I don't know anything about life in Glasgow, but I do know that Toronto is safe compared to other major international cities. Toronto has crime like all cities but it's not to the extent as one would see in.....Los Angeles?? The school systems are good here and your children would be safe. You and your husband would enjoy life in Toronto, I think. If you haven't, you should visit here for a couple weeks to get a feel of the city..watch the news while here. Maybe you can make a informed decision then. Good luck with your decision. |

It is very difficult to give an opinion based on the information that you have given.
Here are a few questions that you need to consider:
Are they young enough [or old enough] to accept the cultural changes and not have any issues with changing school?
Do you have any family or friends in Toronto whom you could stay with or rely on for assistance?
Will you be better off financially in Toronto?
If you can answer yes to these questions, you will probably gain a better life for your kids by moving. |

I am origionally from Greenock , we came to Canada in 1967 . Mom, dad , my sister and myself, we went to Toronto , we stayed there for 30 years, well mom and sis and my kids etc.. are still there , now me and hubby live in Cape Breton Nova Scotia. You will not be dissapointed of this life change. and if you get home sick for the moores and ocean, nova scotia is just like Scotland, well more so up here in Cape Breton parts of Nova Scotia...or heck why dont ya just move to Nova Scotia? |

My family is originally from Glasgow and moved to the Hamilton area years and years ago. They missed it, but never regretted it. It is a beautiful country and Toronto, even though it doesn't feel like it for the people who were born there, a beautiful city. But as one the other people said, Nova Scotia and even Newfoundland are very much like Scotland, so if you don't want to make that big of a cultural leap, go there. |

I lived in toronto for awhile. Didn't like it for a few reasons the people are not as friendly, too much crime and is dirty. The smog...gross. However on the flip side, you can literally live in one section and never have to visit any other parts of the city, there is alot of different cultures therefore you learn lots of new things, beautiful old buildings. |

I grew up in Toronto and loved it. It is a very multi-cultural city, with great cuisine from around the world. Like any city, it has its not-so-great-neighbourhoods, but there are many wonderful neighbourhoods for families. There are plenty of activities for kids too--they can participate in any sport, art, dance, or music that you would care to imagine! |
