The local papers, radio and TV stations will have lists of what's open and what's closed.

If the forecast was better, I'd suggest Edwards Gardens. Even at this time of the year, it would be more than pleasant. But do put it on your list for later in the year, when it will be spectacular.

In this weather, though, indoor activities might be a better idea. Will your child be OK with time spent in the ROM or the AGO? They're probably open. I'm sure that at least some of the stores in the Eaton Centre will be open, but it may be too crowded for your comfort with an young child. The Raptors have a 6:00 pm start at the ACC against the Bulls, and according to the website, there are still tickets available. You could also check for concerts of any type, both in the concert halls (esp Roy Thompson and Massey) and in the larger churches. You might also try the Science Centre, but it's not downtown.

The sidewalks in this city no longer roll up at 10:00 pm. Sorry, that's what we used to say of my grandfather, that he thought the sidewalks rolled up at 10:00 pm. And if you go to any area that's designated a tourist area, just about everything will be open. That designation officially exempts the stores in the area from the (semi) mandatory closings on Sundays and holidays.

In addition to the wonderful recommendations of the other posters, I suggest you take the Hop-on, Hop-off city tour that leaves from Dundas Square (which is across from the Eaton's Centre). The whole tour is 2hrs long with guided commentary - and it is operational Easter Sunday from 9:00am - 4:00pm. In addition to dropping you off at all the must-sees of Toronto, the staff can also tell you about any events going on downtown. Tickets are valid for three days and cost $32.00 per adult. Worth checking out! Welcome to our great city!

Don't forget to check the weather!!! it's been cold lately and i don't think that you should take your 9 month old downtown in this kind of weather.

Try this site: http://www.toronto.com/eventResult?q=easter&OrderBy=DateDelta:StartDate

There is lots to do in the city just have to be creative and look at newspapers, magazines etc

If you want to brave the weather, o even for future reference the Lions Club always has an Easter day Parade in the Beaches, it's fun especially for the kids. Maybe next year it will be warmer. Below is the link.

You should look at the online edition of Now Magazine. Just google it and you'll find it. Or if you're already in Toronto then you can pick up a free copy in many restaurants, clubs, libraries, cafes, wherever. Go to the listings section, and you will find all kinds of options, ranging from events to theatre to music movies dancing readings galleries and so on, whatever's up your alley. Generally there will be some sort of description of the event, what the cost might be (there's lots of free stuff too) and the time and location. You will have plenty of choices this coming weekend.
You can also look in the restaurant guide to decide where you want to eat.
Now magazine is a handy tool for life in Toronto if you want comprehensive listings and reviews of all that's going on.
Less excellent is Eye Magazine, which pretty much does the same thing as Now. You will probably want to check it out too at some point.
Have a great weekend!

Hi, the Toronto Eaton center is usually open.
I think every day but Christmas if i am not mistaken.
I am in Mississauga, so i know there is not much open here but maybe the churches or convenience stores.
Since you are going by Go train, check the web site for the CN tower to see if it is open, or if anything is happening at the sky dome or rogers center.
Good luck, and welcome to Canada.
