I live in red deer Alberta Canada.some unknown visitors park their car in front of my house walkway for more?

than 24 hours. Is it morally right.even dont leave space for my car parking.it troubles me & my family members specially in rain or after grossery shoping. Can anybody tell me rules & regulations about such condition. Can i take any remedial action?Do visitors have much right to park car as closer as possible (despite of other available empty spaces away from house)or honour of the house has much right to park car closer to his house?its ok that temporarily for 2, 3 or 4 hours everyone can park his vehecle.it is tolerable. But for such a long period of time like more than 24 hours exactly in front of walk way.Is it right?

I also live in Alberta and can certainly sympathy with your dilemma. Unfortunately as streets are considered public access ways you don't have any recourse legally. The only time you can call bylaws is if the vehicle is preventing you from accessing your driveway. The second way is if you can prove the vehicle is abandoned - which it is considered so after (b) left standing on public or private property for more than 72 consecutive hours without the consent of the owner or person in possession or control of the property

Hope this answers your question.

As long as they are not parked in front of a driveway they can park there. A street is public property.

Yes it's annoying but there's nothing you can do about it unfortunately.

it's pretty much a free for all if the street infront of your house belongs to the city...

you can call the city for suggestions but they will only tell you there's nothing really that they can do unless there are parking restrictions that the individual is violating. who knows... maybe that individual has a home close to where tyou are and there's someone parking infront of their house and they have no wheres else to park but infront of your place..

It's lame and stupid of someone, but I suppose the best course of action would be to call local authorities and get it towed, or something.

Look on the bright side.

Unless the vehicle is blocking a driveway or is in a restricted area, you can do nothing. The streets are open to any member of the public. Tough, but thats life! Suck it up!!

No its not right, but unfortunately if you call the city as long as they have valid plates they are not breaking any laws. Put up some signs, if its the same people talk to them, if this does not work .....

The streets can be used by anyone. This problem is just irritating. If the person in front of your house kept getting flat tires or dirt on the window, they may decide to chose a better place to park....
