one of the best parts... GALEXYLAND its a huge indoor amusment part, it has rollercosters and upside down rides and little kid rides along with arcade.... The mall also has a indoor skating rink and mini golf, glow in the dark mini golf, fun house, fun house maze, paint ball, a virtual ride/movie (located in galexyland), build a bear ( amazingly fun for ALL ages), and clubs and comedy acts ( adults only) and one medium food court and one HUGE food court... And inside the mall is fantasy land hotel, its soooo cool, the rooms are themed and EVERY thing in the room is in that theme... Ex. Ice/polar bear room.... - the bed is a igloo, the hot tub looks like a hot tub made of ice bricks, the comferter and wallpaper all are catered to the theme.... And I can't remember what else is in it ...

random rambler
It's the world's largest shopping & entertainment centre.

J'aime la natation!
Just to clear up any confusion, West Edmonton Mall is the fifth largest mall in the world. I think but don't quote me. It is larger than the Mall of America.

West Ed Mall has the world's largest:
Indoor triple-loop roller coaster
indoor waterpark
wave pool (in the waterpark)
indoor lake
parking lot (with over 20,000 stalls but parking is still hard to find!)
also many other worlds largests but I cant think of them right now. Some of the other answers were good for what you can do there.

It used to be the largest mall in the world until the most recent addition to the Mall of America. The West Edmonton Mall has tons of shopping (obviously), an indoor skating rink, a miniature golf course, it's own Bourbon Street (a row of restaurants set to look like the real Bourbon Street), an indoor water park, submarine rides, a movie theatre, live entertainment for children and adults, an amusement park, and the Fantasyland Hotel (a hotel with themed rooms...they're pretty fun...we've stayed in the Roman suite and the Hawaiian themed room). Honestly, I have gone to Edmonton and not left the mall before. There is so much to do, and it's like it's own little city.

its famous for indoor plumbing, a rarity in those parts

Know-it-all
Edmonton Mall is famous because it is bigger than the village of Edmonton.
