I need to get my car from British Columbia to Ontario, Canada. Does anyone know of any affordable ways?

I would consider a reputable driving service also. I am looking for the most economical route if possible. I have had quotes around $1500! Is that the going rate? Would it be cheaper to pick it up at the US Boarder in Buffalo?

In response to the dumb answer below: I don't want to drive the car because I don't have a lot of highway driving experience, it's over 4000km away and I am a young single girl.

The cheapest way is to drive it yourself. I don't know why lack of highway driving experience and being a young single girl should stop you from doing that. Where's your guts? The only way you're going to get highway driving experience is by doing some of it. As for being single, young and female, just use your head about what you do and it won't be any more dangerous than other things you probably do every day. I have driven between BC and Ontario a number of times by myself, had no trouble at any time, and most of those trips were before cell phones. Being out on the highway is no more dangerous than going to the mall and getting into your car after dark, maybe less. Don't let the distance freak you out. You'd drive from Vancouver to Kamloops, wouldn't you? All you're doing is that times 10. Get a road atlas, plan your route so you know where you want to stop every night. Make plans to call someone once or twice a day, tell them where you are, etc. The most economical route is probably through the US. The roads are better, the route is a day shorter, and the gas is usually cheaper.

If you are going to consider the one suggestion of renting your car to someone to drive it east I would check with my insurance company first...I doubt that they would allow this and if anything should happen, accident that sort of thing and you chose to ignore the insurance company's advice...you are toast.
On the other hand...you could advertise, for a person who is looking for a way to get to Ontario other than fly, allow him or her to drive your car, they will pay for the gas. You allow them X amount of km on the car, giving them some to play with for detours etc. Make sure that this person has a good driving record and is honest. You can have them checked out, and have a few references etc. Perhaps you know someone on the police force that can help you with the details as well as the insurance company again...read the small print to make sure that your car is covered, this is not the same as you renting out your car. I know this has been done quit a bit, you just have to find the right person that want to go east at a time that is good for both of you.
If you want the car delivered in Toronto....and they are leaving B.C. It might be shorter to head east through U.S interstate all the way then head through the U.P. in Mi cross over Mackinaw Bridge hit I-75 south onto I-69 cross border into Sarnia Ont...take 402 to 401 into Toronto, (steady driving it would take about 4 or 5 days tops) rather than go all the way to Buffalo

Check into having it shipped by rail or truck. There are services that do this. You could check around with friends or family and see if anyone would be willing to drive your car sort of as a holiday and then they could fly back. If you go this route be sure and ask them for a copy of their driver's abstract. (they can get this from the Motor Vehicle Branch and this tell show many accident they have had an how many violations so you know if you have a good driver or a bad one) Also bear in mind that if this person has an accident it is your insurance that will pay for it as the insurance covers the CAR not the driver.

Why not rent the car out to a US tourist like me, for a price slightly less than rental cars charge per day!

Then it's a money maker for you and a money saver for someone like me.

Ifyou really like sell yourcar and buy a new one. if that don't work ship your car to ontario and if that don't work come to calgary I will buy your car. what car you have?
