I plan on moving to Canada...help me please?

I live in the US (Florida), but I've been thinking about looking for a job and try to live in Canada. The cities like Montreal and Vancouver interest me. But I don't know anyone or anything about Canada. I know and heard that the winter are ruff and that Canadians are very nice and that it is a very diverse country.

I am wondering about the way of life there, cost of living, job comparaison, and mostly job availability compare to the US.
Can someone guide me?

thank you,

I am sorry but you cannot just move to Canada. You have to apply to become an immigrant.

Do a web search for "TN Visa". If you are a member of one of the professions listed you can go there a fast as you can find a job in one of those fields. Otherwise the process can take several years.

If you want to live a Canadian lifestyle without getting a visa, consider moving to Seattle. And Vancouver BC is only a 3 hour drive from there.

Also note that except for Vancouver, Canada is extremely cold in the winter.

If you need a job go West they need plenty of people with the oil boom. Alberta is nice. Vancouver BC has nice weather while Montreal snow can drive you nuts. Montreal is cheaper than Vancouver. Some cities are in need of workers Calgary, Edmonton. The east of Canada doesn't offer the jobs you will find out west.

you dont need neceserely move to canada cause ,i ve lived in all these cities and i can tell you that

vancouver is the same as seattle and san francisco

montreal as new york,

toronto like chicago,

calgary is the texas

no florida weather and beaches,,sorry,,but summer in canada r hotter trust me

I only know a little bit about Vancouver, B.C. Canada. I live about 45 minutes south of Seattle, Washington. Vancouver is just over the boarder north of Seattle. The winters are actually pretty mild, but Vancouver, like Seattle, has a lot of rain and a lot of days where it's gray and cloudy all day long even if it doesn't rain that day. Sometimes we literally have weeks on end with gray, cloudy and often rainy days. When it's like that where I live, it's also like that in Vancouver 90 percent of the time.

Now, don't get me wrong, I love Seattle and I've been to Vancouver and it's a beautiful city also, but I was born here and can take the weather. Because I've lived here all my life, I've met a lot of people who move here from other areas and after one or two years say that they are moving south again as they simply cannot take all the gray.

On our local news, they always show the weather in Vancouver as well as Seattle and Tacoma because it's not that far. They get at least as much rain as Seattle (I think possibly more) and they have at least as many gray days as we do.

If you are the type of person who becomes depressed when you have to go without sunny days for a long period of time, you might want to check into Montreal instead. Although I have no clue what the typical weather is in Montreal.

Here's a link that will give you yearly averages for Vancouver's weather:

http://vancouver.weatherpage.ca/climate.html

hmmm, weird the link didn't work quite right. Click on the button that says lookup and it'll work.

I just went to a site that converts metric to inches and Vancouver gets an average of 45.4606 inches of rain a year. Seattle has an average annual rainfall of 37.1 inches.

I visited Van Couver in May of this year. I have a friend who lives there. The cost of living should be comparable to FL. But I guess that depends on what part you live in. It is truly diverse and has everything to offer that you can imagine!! All of the people are friendly-its like being in NYC but with nice people. Winters aren't any worse than living in northern U.S. Based on what I know you can get any type of job you want w/little trouble. I realize this isn't a lot of help, but hope it helps.
