Eye of Sauron

I saw a special today on Niagara Falls. The Canadian side seems well developed is the US side developed, too?

The special was talking about the mist problem they were having because of all the development of the skyscrapers on the Canadian side. I was wondering why all the development was on the Canadian side and not the US side. Any ideas? Or, is the US side developed and they just didn't mention it?

Anyone who has been there, Canadian or American will tell you the Canadian side is better. The Canadian falls are better, the view is better and well, yeah, the US side has been developed for years (not well either, hope you love billboards as there are a lot). The Canadian side has beautiful gardens around the falls, a lovely place to take photos.

Mainly because the US side has been developed for YEARS.

yes the american side is developed but not as extravagant as the Canadian side. But i did here there are some plans in the works to create more of a tourist industry on the american side, still the canadian side will always be better for viewing etc...

malroymck
The Canadian side is more developeed, and the views of the falls is a lot better there.

when I was in Niagra Falls we only went to the Canadian side. Not sure why its nicer but it is. It seems they are marketing the fact that it is canadian and its mostly US tourists who go there. US tourists don't want to go to the US side because its more interesting to be in another country.

Mmmmm
The Niagara has a better view from the Canadian side . So it makes sense that they get more tourists and develop it too.

kate1976
canadian side is nicer because you are facing the falls when you are looking from canada.

truckerman
The U.S. side is more of an industrial development and the way the Niagara River runs the falls on the American side are not as spectacular and the best way to view the American falls is from the Canadian side. The Americans built a walkway out from the land so that the falls could be viewed from there side but it does not really give them a panoramic view like you would get from the Canadian side.
