i don't think it's fair that you're mother is forcing you to live somewhere and do something that you're really not happy about. your happiness should count for something. tell her how you feel, and that if she really cares for you she will want you to be happy. |

Being homesick seems life and death, so I understand how you are feeling...adding that to your age, and you must be feeling awful. You are old enough and mature enough to handle an adult conversation with your mom on your feelings. I would not suggest you accuse her of tricking you, but you could say you were under the impression you two would not be staying that long, and if you had known, you would have told her no before this. It is all in the way you say it. Maybe you could suggest living with your dad for the school year in Toronto, and then spending the summers with her...something along that line..this could be an emotional time for her too, so tread lightly....no demanding..just discussing. Will be hard (I know, I have three daughters, two are teens), but hopefully you are close enough to your mom to be able to tell her your feelings of loneliness and unhappiness...not with her..just homesick.

By your account, it seems that your mother tricked you into going to England. If that is the case then the chances of you being able to convince her to let you return to Canada are close to nil.
You mentioned that your "...dad is still there...". It sounds like your parents divorced. Who has legal custody of you? Whoever has <b>legal</b> custody of you decides where you live. |

Being in a place where you do not want to be can be very very depressing and unhappy though I doubt it is fatal.....YOu need to communicate your true feelings with your mother-parents.If she is unwilling to udnerstand then maybe you can elicit the help of a grandparent or favorite aunt( yourmothers sister and not your fathers sister...) Good luck with your problem |
