Come to Toronto, there is a lot to see and most of it within easy walking distance, You have the Eaton Centre, Skydome, CN Tower, Chinatown, underground walkways. Then you can take public transportation to Bloor and Bay or Yonge and you are in the famous Yorkville. You also have the museum near Bloor and bay.
You have the Metro Zoo, and the Ontario Science Center only a short drive away. We also have many live theatres with terrific shows in the downtown area. Give Toronto a try, you won't be disappointed. |

I've been all over the world. I have family in both Vancouver and Toronto. If you want congenial and friendly people, you stick to the laid-back and fun-loving west coast (Vancouver). If you want arrogant, uppity, we-are-better than everyone else people, you go anywhere in Ontario, and especially Toronto. Vancouver has a lot of rain like Seattle, but not in summer and early fall (duh). Toronto has high humidity or freeze-your-butt off weather. Vancouver has arts and entertainment, the ocean for fishing, sailing, whale-watching, the mountains for skiing, hiking, hunting, speedy accessibility to the incredible Vancouver Island, San Juan/Gulf Islands (and Seattle isn't that far), Victoria, BC (another stunning and interesting city), Hollywood North, and lovely Washington State. Toronto has the theater, and arrogant people (oh, you can get to Buffalo, NY in about an hour or so). If you go to Vancouver, make sure you try to get to Victoria. It's like a small and more laid-back Boston. Both cities do have excellent restaurants.
Trust me. I know what I'm talking about. Been to both about 8 or 9 times each. |

I agree with Old Lady - she says it very well.
Those people who prefer Toronto over Vancouver are masochists and wear hair shirts. |

Vancouver, better weather.
Plus you have the mountains and bay with the urban life. |

Well, Katrina, that depends entirely on what you want to do. Toronto is a very large city, and has the usual large city amenities. Lots of shopping, and stuff to do.
Vancouver is a beautiful city, not quite as large as Toronto, but set in spectacular surroundings. And best of all, it's on the Pacific Ocean. Vancouverites set great store in their beaches and their ocean playground. You'll see them out in the thousands on the beaches that ring Vancouver, and in the water on outrigger canoes, sculls, kayaks, and pleasure boats of all kinds.
Vancouver is no slouch when it comes to the arts, however. We have Bard on the Beach (Shakespeare, in a contemporary setting, performed in a tent on the beach during the summer months. It's been going for 15 years and is tremendously popular). We are regularily visited by Broadway touring companies and pop stars, and we have our own dance and theatre companies that are world class. If you like the outdoors, Vancouver has awesome hiking, mountain trails, mountain biking, etc.etc.etc. Plus it's only an hour away from Whistler, the site of the 2010 Olympics. The gondola (chair lift) runs year-round so you can go up to the peaks and see exactly where it will all be taking place.
There's also Vancouver Island, and Victoria (BC's capital city) which is just an hour-long ferry ride and you often see whales during the crossing. once in Victoria, which is known as a little bit of Old England, you can have your Devonshire Tea at the Empress Hotel, visit the Butchart Rose Gardens, which are world famous, and do all sorts of other fun things.
Does it sound like I'm biased? Well, I guess I am. Come to Vancouver and you'll see why.... |

If you love big cities, Toronto is the place to be. But, if you hate snow, then you may consider going to Vancouver. |

Depends whether you prefer rain (Vancouver) or smog (Toronto).
I've never been to Vancouver, but I know there is a TON of stuff to do and see in Toronto.
I hear that Vancouver is definately more visually stunning, but that it rains a LOT.
Either way, you'll have a good time - it's Canada! |

I think Toronto would be more interesting to go to.
Toronto for the city, shopping, musical theatres, basically entertainment
Vancouver for the outdoorsy activities. |

Toronto - the people in Vancouver are a right bunch of ignorant, rude and stuck up Canadians (but i have to say the city is nice to look at), also the flight time is much shorter. |
