I want to move to canada? |
I'm planning to move to canada next year. I live in the US. I want to know what province and city I should move to. So far, I think Edmonton,Alberta sounds good. but I'd like some recommendations. Here is what I want.
Rules:
1.The place you recommend must have clean, well maintained, suburbs.
2. The province and city MUST have english as their official language.
3. I don't want a huge city
4. The area must mostly consist of people for the liberal party (I'm a democrat here in america)
5. I don't want it to be in the country, I want a city suburb
6.I don't want the place to be too crowded, I want a simple city. sort of like San diego or Tempe
PS. If you can reccomend other english speaking countries (such as england) that are similar to what I what I want, post the city. |

Beggars can't be choosers.
Since no place here could possibly meet your demands, I would suggest you consider moving someplace else. |

-If you're looking for a liberal place, forget Alberta and Saskatchewan.
-The best suburbs are probably those around Toronto, but you said you don't want a huge city and don't want a crowded place, so Toronto isn't for you.
-Manitoba and Prince Edawrd Island are rural so it isn't the place for you.
-Quebec is out of the question (language).
I think New Brunswick would be your best bet, as there are many medium-sized cities (Moncton and St. John are 120,000, Fredericton at 70,000). Housing and heating costs are among the cheapest in Canada. The only thing that's quite expensive is car insurance, though it's only 1/3 of what it costs in Ontario. Nova Scotia is similar but with ridiculously high living costs. |

Next year may be a bit soon There's a long queue to get into Canada and you do not say whether you have applied to immigrate and been accepted.
Political opinions are not concentrated by area. If you want to mix with people who favor the Liberal party, you will have to travel to political events.
Our small towns don't usually have suburbs. |

Alberta is a conservative province, and people in Edmonton aren't even dumb enough to vote Liberal. (I'm from Calgary so I'm allowed to bug them).
I'd say Victoria, BC or some suburb of Toronto. Vancouver is pretty cool too.
For econoomy it's Alberta or Saskatchewan... you'll find a job easier in those two provinces than anywhere in the USA. For the reasons you've just listed... I'd probably go with Vancouver or Victoria.. beautiful cities. |

Edmonton ain't where you want to go. Cold, full of redneck Conservatives. Alberta's our Texas.
Ontario sounds like the place you want to be. By your criteria, I would suggest London, Barrie or the Guelph/Kitchener/Waterloo/Cambridge area. |
