Go to a city but... Canada is so much more than its cities! Spend some time seeing the wild areas of the country too.
Vancouver usually comes out on top as far as culture/nightlife is concerned.

Hope you enjoy.

Montreal, especially if it's the last week in June--jazz festival! Not so much if it's Grand Prix Weekend, but maybe that's just me. (Anyway if you wanted to go to the Grand Prix, you'd have said that. Do they still have the Grand Prix?)

Anywhere in Alberta would be the place to be. Calgary is perfect though, because there's been a boom last year and is continuing, plus the people here are nice. There are lots of places to go, like the parks for scenery, the downtown for a good time at a restaurant or bar or shopping, and there's quite a few malls here too. In the summer, Calaway park is shortly outside the city, and in the mountains, there are many activities, such as white water rafting, picnics hiking, and many more things to do. Calgary is the place to be.

Quebec City!! We were there in June 2005, it was amazing. It's very European and the people were friendly, most spoke English, though I would recommend trying to learn a few French phrases. The city is so clean and beautiful, it is very walkable. Make sure you see near by Montmorency (sp?) Falls, very nice. I hear Vancouver is beautiful also, but I haven't been.

Montreal is definately one of the most eccentric cities in the world. it would be a pity to go to canada and not see montreal.
if you're a party person or you like to be on your feel then there will never be a dull moment. there's so much to do!
