Yes, unemployment is higher in the Atlantic region due to various factors, but it is NOT impossible to get a job or even a great one at that. Try looking at Halifax, Nova Scotia. Beautiful scenery, beside the ocean, great history and culture, low crime rate... A small to medium sized city but with lots of multiculturalism and industry. It's a great place to live and raise a family. Oh, and the cost of living is a LOT less compared to places like Toronto.
Here are a few sites that might help you. Good luck!

If you like the outdoors, skiing, hiking, lakes, mountains then the only place to live is British Columbia.
Vancouver is the best large city in the world clean beaches, mountains .
the best place to live in Vancouver is In north Vancouver which is safe and has a good night life. Grouse mountain is twenty minutes away and has skiing and hiking. Vancouver is rainy in the winter and expensive.
In the interior the Okanogan valley is cheaper not as busy and has the four seasons beautiful lakes
If you are young and want a night life Kelowna is good right on the lake lots of singles
Even cheaper with lots of college people is Nelson B.C
in the Kootneys the next valley over. again more beaches lakes and mountains
Vancouver Island is warm all year round
I live in a perfect town which I will keep secret or everyone will move here.
However if you are looking for muggy hot summers, smog, icy freezing winters, street violence, pollution and some what snobby people then Toronto would be your perfect place to move.
P.S
I have always found the maritimers very nice people I have never been there but I would check out wolfville

Alot depends on what you do for a living and where you want to live, coast, mountains, prairies, etc. For an affordable house you may want to look into the Maritime provinces, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island. For lots of work, try Alberta. For mountains, British Columbia, parts of Quebec although the ability to speak French in Quebec is almost a necessity. Southern Ontario is overcrowded, expensive, very muggy in summer and lousy freeways. Best way for you to see where you may consider moving is to go to MLS.ca and check out real estate prices in each of the provinces. The government of Canada also has a site where you can check out jobs across the country. Great country we have up here and wherever you decide to re-settle can have both advantages and dis-advantages. Vancouver, Victoria area of British Columbia on the west coast has the warmest winters with southern Ontario next. The Maritime provinces follow with Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba only ahead of the Northwest Territories(where it gets very cold in winter. Newfoundland has the highest unemployment but the friendliest people. Each province has their own websites so good luck with your move. |

I would live in Montreal, because it's cheaper than Toronto.
Vancover is nice and climate is more moderate, but it does rain a lot. Also Montreal is only 6 hours by car to New York, and has many international flights to Europe and cheap flights to Florida.
But you still need to contact , the Canadian Consul first .
You cannot just move to Canada. Also you choice will have to depend on what you want to do, seek employment or be self employed . |

With out a doubt, the best place on the planet to live is central Alberta and i should know, I'm a realtor. I can see the mountains, visit Edmonton or Calgary in about an hour, jobs and prosperity everwhere. |

I would say Ottawa would be a better place to live if your looking for a nice City and a good job. You have to be bilingual to live & work in in any part of Quebec.Unemploment is high in the eastern provinces,(New Brunswick,Nova scotia etc..) Toronto can be very expensive city to live in ...and very unsafe. |
