If your thinking about moving to Canada, I suggest move to Toronto or somewhere near there like Mississauga, Brampton, or Oakville. It gets below 0C during the winter but the summers are usually over 25C. There are alot of attrations and activites during the year like skiing. I recently went to nuit blanch which was art galleries all over toronto and i thought it was neat. There are many companys in the city to work for, more the 80% of north americans have a job, im sure you wont have a problem finding one. AND we have a universal health care system that the us doesnt have, you dont have to pay to go to the doctors or your medications if you have a health problem. In canada the average of people live till 76 and over, in the us the average lives to 71-75. If you are wondering were i got all this imformation from I learned it during elementary school which also proves what good education canada has, so if you have kids its good for them.

Yeah, it's cold in the winter but you can always wear a coat. You'll get free health care. Our beer is stronger. And Tim Hortons makes better coffee than anything in the states.

Seriously though, it depends where you go. Our west coast is much like Oregon and Seattle. Toronto is like living in the states and Montreal is like living in a French Toronto. The prairies are full of good old farm boys only they're obsessed with hockey instead of football. The Maritimes is much like New England.

Over the years, we've accepted so much American culture that our entertainment (TV, Movies, music, etc.) is basically the same.

Living here is very similar to America in many ways but the attitude up here is much more "Live and Let Live."

It's a great place to live. I lived in the states for a year and even though it was good down there, I couldn't wait to come back.

in winter many canadian cities share the eact same weather conditions like their neighbours.New york ,detroit ,washington etc . Canada is a big country and many people think its like the alaskan state or worse.

I am sure you would like it here.We are the same being a country built on immigrants.fats foods/clothes/ music ...but on the other habd we have cleaner cities and we are more accpetting of our diversity !!! less social issues.
I definatly think you should visit . I have a few american friend who have moved to canada and love it here

Canada is like America, but in Canada they take care of their enviornment.

winterpixie_13
I have been doing the same research. And I have gotten a lot of negative answers from other people here in the US. But so far from what have learned it is very much like the US.
Here is a site that someone gave me and so far it has been helpful.http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/index.asp
Good Luck.

there are approximately 30 million people living in all of canada.
about 2.5 million live in vancouver...thats where i live.
canada's only been a country for less than 200 years.
we have rememberance day, not veterans day
we have our thanksgiving in october, not november.
we have universal healthcare, but it still sucks
and....i don't know what else to tell ya.
