Canada just doesn't have any more jobs for skilled labourers. We do have a shortage of unskilled labourers (cooks, bus drivers, construction workers, etc.) Unfortunately, our immigration policies haven't caught up with our actual needs. Canada is still recruiting highly-qualified foreign immigrants, ignoring their credentials and putting them to work at McDonalds. Honestly, if I had a university education and a good job I wouldn't want to immigrate to Canada (unless I had a job lined up before I came). If I didn't have a university education, I wouldn't bother applying for citizenship because my chances of being approved would be so low. |

Well, I live in Canada, I prefer the US love the climate, however I know for a fact it isn't difficult to obtain residency here as I know several who moved most chose Alberta, however several prefer Montreal, good luck.
