Sassy

I would like to move to another state or move to Canada. I am 24yo and the problem is that I have?

only about $800. What should I do? And what kind of research should I do to help me out? Also, what is the additional but least bit of money I can use to do this. I will plan to find a job at my new location.

In order to move to Canada you have to go through the immigration process, which takes 1-3+ years and costs about $1,500 per person (all fees and related expenses). So, if that is something you want to do, you will have to plan for it.

As far as moving within the states, research the cost of living where you want to move to, and save up enough for at least 6 months, so you have some leeway for job-hunting. Then if you find a job in less time, you have a savings to fall back on in the future. Genrally speaking, you will want to have $6,000 to $10,000 in savings prior to moving. You could do it on half that, but will be under a lot more pressure about finding a job asap.

What type of work do you want to do? Right now the weather is great in Death Valley National Park, California. The company that runs the hotels and restaurants is hiring. They provide housing and reduced cost meals. That might be something to do.

If you have never moved away on your own, try somewhere not too far until you get the hang of it. In my younger days I worked all over Canada and the US ( no green card ). There are tons of jobs most places but the pay may not be great unless you have a skill. Tradespeople find the better paying jobs..

It is nice ..that you would like to move to another state or canada... will need to look closely..if only $800..in savings ..
In alberta.(.Calgary)... you can find a job at the drop of a hat...
but you have to realize that ...you also have to find room and board..food ect....and that long wait for that first pay-check...
also depends on where you wish to go...suggestion....either save a little more money before you move..or might feel the true squeeze on the pocket book... but travel is good..to learn

If you like to come to Canada, I can suggest to become a nanny. The family will have to give you room and board and pay you as well. So consider looking after children in a home.

Good Luck
