Yes, you can. Montreal is a tourist destination and a major metropolitan area so you will be able to get by speaking English.

In Montreal they speak French or English. I wouldn't worry about it.

yes most people speak some english, especially in the western part of the island, but if you do go its good to learn a few phrases cause the french speakers love it when tourists try to speak a bit of french (its a sign of respect), but youd be surprised at all the english in montreal cause so many people do speak it.

Yeah you'd be able to get by if you don't speak French. But if I were you, I'd at least learn the basics. The French-speaking population would appreciate that.

Downtown Montreal is very English. You won't have a problem at all.

Yes, but it would be appreciated if you tried a few phrases. Most Montrealais are quite bilingual.
