you pre-buy 'stripper bucks' usually at the bar, or the waitress. You buy like $20 or whatever, (so you would have 20 $1stirpper bucks) and you give them to the stripper. The other option is that you start at $5.

It is different in each province. Here in BC we don't pay them, we tip them $5 (bills). The bar pays them and raises the price of beer.

In Alberta yes! They throw $1 loonies and $2 toonies at them for tips. Usually best aim gets a prize, like a stripper lighter or key chain or poster .The bar pays them and raises the price of beer.

Saskatchewan - I think they still have one strip club?

Quebec - why tip when you are paying for a lap dance? Like many places with lap dancers I don't know if they are paid for dancing onstage. It is just as much their chance to advertise to drum up private lap dance sales. In that case, if you tip you do it well - $5, so they know to come back and check you out when they are off stage.
