Hmmm. Primary education is paid through property tax. So you pay for it as a home owner or as part of your rent. Secondary education is subsidized but still partially paid for by the user. If you are not a Canadian citizen, your colledge tuition can be double what a Canadian pays who graduates from a Canadian Hign School. Even in Canada, there is no free ride. |

Elementary and high school is sort of "free"...your taxes pay for it but post secondary education everyone pays for. |

If you are paying taxes, most of it is included, though even public schools have small fees. When I was in school (over a decade ago) it was a bit over $100 a year to register. This does not apply to college, you would have to pay for that same as in the US. |
