Im considering leaving England a.k.a the global gene pool for Canada or America. Whats in your opinion...? |
the better of the two?
Im currently drawn to Canada.
Being Irish i love Scenic places and Canada seems like a nice place compared to the concrete jungles of America.
Come on Yanks convince me im wrong. |

My fiance moved to Canada from England in April. He absolutely loves it here, the sights continue to amaze him - 7 months later. He loves the open spaces here and the sky that seems to never end.
Also, being a semi (lorry) driver, he travels down into the States frequently and he really doesn't like it there. He, even with an extremely strong accent, is asked to say "eh" because his truck plates are Canadian. He has had to deal with so many less than intelligent people that he really doesn't like it there (I know not everyone is like that there).
We live in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan which is just big enough to be big city but small enough to be small town.
Right now it is -21 (with the wind chill it feels like -31), so it is a little cold right now but the cold here is different from England, it is a dry cold, not wet.
Anyway, I hoped this helped you a bit, good luck with your choice. |

There are a lot of nice things to look at in the States as well. It's not all big cities and rude people. Even if you don't chose to move to America, you should come see some of our sights. Btw, I've wanted to live in England for ages...I can't imagine going the other way around. |

Canada isn't all scenic little villages at the foot of snowy mountains with thick forests everywhere.
Have you ever heard of Toronto? Vancouver? Calgary? Montreal? They are your perfect example of a "concrete jungle".
Its amazing how people in other countries think that Canada is just a big open forest.
There are a lot of nice places in the US and Canada. You might want to do some more research on the different regions to know what area you would like to live in. The US south is a nice place. |

america is like Holland. They both think they are really relaxed but they are so uptight it's unreal. Mind you at least Holland has a sense of humour. My experience of america is a beautiful country full of nasty people. |

canada .less social and political issues. That was obnoxious that someone says alot of frenchies over here. Its quebec that you find mostly french speakers.
I find while visitting families in America and travelling throughout the USa canada also is much cleaner
most americans don't even know very much about canada
in my travels I have been asked about living in igloos and even on yahoo someon asked how we mailed letters which postal service we use ..lol
my suggesttion is take a road trip..my aunt and uncle came from england rented a mobile home and took sometime off to tour for themselves....
its a big decision you should not let other make up your mind for you and some here have not even travelled thorugh both countries but are making stereotypes |
