Note that the airport is quite a distance from the city ... you will want to avoid the rush hour, and if sightseeing in the downtown core, I would advise leaving for the airport by 3:30 or so. that being said, the CN Tower is your best bet as a single experience. It is the tallest freestanding structure in the world and offers some remarkable views. From there, a walk down Yonge Street (the longest street in the world) offers some great shopping, especially at the Eaton Centre, a mall that covers an entire city block.

I suggest, if you haven't been to Toronto before.. that you take a double decker bus ride, which will take you on a jump on-jump off tour of the city..
You can see the whole city in a 4 hour loop tour, and get off at any stops you'd like to. You could go to Casa Loma.. It's a beautiful castle tour.. or make sure you stop at the CN Tower, for a beautiful view from the tallest tower. Or check the theater schedule, and see if they have a good matinee show!
I hope you have a great time! We're headed to Toronto for a long weekend this summer!
