Importance of niagara falls?

Conductor Budgie
Niagara Falls has served as a major tourist attraction for several centuries, and in more recent times, has been a top producer of hydro-electric power.

Niagara Falls, New York has a strong industrial base, and thus employs a lot of people, and produces a good deal of materials and products for the nation's economy. Niagara Falls, Ontario never had the industrial base that the New York side did, and in recent decades, their industry has faded to a shadow of it's former self.

Fortunately, tourism is still huge in Niagara Falls, Ontario, and employs a good deal of local residents.

?
Aside from being an area of scenic beauty, the entire Niagara River region serves as a major source of electrical power that is used throughout most of the East Coast region.

psb1234
The flowing of the Niagara Falls water is powerful enough to use for a cleaner source of electricity.

i've heard but don't know if it's true that Niagara falls powers Toronto and NYC, but it's definitely important for electricity
